Obligate Aerobes: Detailed Facts Around It

The obligate aerobes are the one that needs the gas oxygen for its growth and survival. The oxygen is used by them for numerous purposes.

The obligate aerobes via cell respiration tend to use the gas for having the material metabolized like the fats and sugars and also need to obtain energy. This obligate aerobe tends to also take oxygen as a server for getting the electron accepted.

It works on the mechanism of aerobic respiration. Thus, obligate aerobes have the pros of dealing with getting to supply with more energy or ATP than the method of fermentation and also obligate aerobes. They are subjected to getting a good level; of oxidative stress. Among many their organism, all the animals mostly fungi are of the obligate aerobes type.

Some of the other bacteria that can be associated with this are the Myconbacterium tuberluclosis, the Norcadia asteroids, the Baciilus being much common and the Pseudomonas aeruginisa. There are as well as good exception for yeast for obligate aerobes and mostly the fungi are the obligate ones. Also, along with this all of the algae are the obligate aerobes. May of the gram positive ones are said to be obligate aerobes.

The strategy of the obligate aerobes is simple. They are seen in the places that lack oxygen and are temporary based. They need good way of loving to have kept itself alive. There is some example of obligate aerobes that can switch their mode to being making of hydrogen oxidation and fermentative way of hydrogen making with either use of oxygen or having the fumarate reduction in hand by availability of electrons.

There are many problems that can take place. The very first of getting the making of hydrogen example shall be the obligate aerobe. They also tend to confirm the method of fermentation in the mycobacterium and also show proof that hydrogen plays a good role in having the cell develop and survive. The threats can be seen if the obligate aerobe are placed in the place having good supply of oxygen leading to oxidative level of stress. Through cellular respiration, these organisms use oxygen to metabolise substances, like sugars or fats, to obtain energy.

This is a property of obligate aerobe. The occurrence of this can make an imbalance of the radicals that are free and also the antioxidants seen in the cell. This can be due to a lot of pollution seen and also for having the radiation in the surrounding. The strategy to have this obligate aerobe used to have itself survived is to get its phenomena be seen for the organism to have its immune system used in the correct way to avoid much of its imbalance.

Streptomyces coelicolor

It is a unique obligate aerobe which is said to be gram positive and dwell in the soil with phylum Actinomycetota.

It is said to be different as the genome of this type of obligate aerobes encodes many enzymes that shall be helpful for having the method of anaerobic metabolism in place in the facultative way and is addressed to anaerobic bacteria.

This is a genus of the Streptomyces and has been always said to be taken form the soil. The obligate aerobes having the small RNA are a part of the regulation in the post transcription phase. On using of any sequence of this obligate aerobes it was seen that the growth was exponential. Thus there were 63 small RNA that were identified. A crystal structure is available for this and is also involved in both the synthesis of fatty acid and the polyketide synthase and is also in structure with the E. coli analogue.

Actinomyces occur commonly within the tonsillar crypts, tartar of teeth, and the alimentary tracts. Actinomyces do not occur as commensals in the vaginal flora. In the female genital tract, ascending problem is the most common mode of occurrence of clinical problem; however, rarely, hematogenous and lymphatic spread, or dissemination of problem from the alimentary tract or other distant sources, may occur. Ascending problem occurs in the presence of intrauterine or intravaginal contraceptives, IUDs of various types being the most common.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis

It is said to be a pathogenic obligate aerobes and is a part of the family for the Mycobacteriaceae causing tuberculosis.

It was first seen in 1882 and was analyzed by Robert Koch with it having a very uncommon coating of wax on its surface that was mostly due to the presence of acid called as mycolic acid. It helps the cell from straining.

The genome contains 250 genes involved in fatty acid metabolism, with 39 of these involved in the polyketide metabolism generating the waxy coat. Such large numbers of conserved genes show the evolutionary importance of the waxy coat to pathogen survival. Furthermore, experimental studies have since validated the importance of a lipid metabolism for M. tuberculosis, consisting entirely of host-derived lipids such as fats and cholesterol.

Thus for this reason this obligate aerobe seems to stand weak for positive gram bacteria. There are many acid fast stains being the florescent stains like the auramine, the Ziehl-Neelson shall be commonly used up to see these obligate aerobes under the microscope. It is much aerobic in nature and also needs good level oxygen to survive. It is mostly seen in the respiratory system of mammals. Bacteria isolated from the lungs of infected mice were shown to preferentially use fatty acids over carbohydrate substrates.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa

It is an obligate aerobes of type gram negative and grow in the condition if being anaerobic and in the presence of nitrate.

It is also a rod shaped obligate aerobes that can cause many problems in the animals and plants also including the homo sapiens. This species is also of much importance in the way of medicines. It is also said to be resistant toward the pathogen and is seen for its good.

It is much good for having an advance way of having the antibiotic resisted and also is linked with various health issues like that have the problem taken in hospital or also can be sepsis syndromes and also ventilated pneumonia. It is said to be much concerned with the insofar way of getting infected due to certain conditions. It mostly affects the immune concerned and often is seen at the time of cystic fibrosis and burns.

The species name aeruginosa is a Latin word meaning verdigris also called as “copper rust”, referring to the blue-green color of laboratory cultures of the species. This blue-green pigment is a combination of two metabolites of P. aeruginosa, pyocyanin is blue and pyoverdine is green, which impart the blue-green characteristic color of cultures. Another assertion from 1956 is that aeruginosa may be derived from the Greek prefix ae- meaning “old or aged”, and the suffix ruginosa means wrinkled or bumpy

Bacillus

It is an obligate aerobe that is gram positive and is also rod shaped that is member of the phyla Bacillota that has about 263 species to it.

These species can be either of the obligate aerobes type or also the facultative anaerobes. They thus have the option of either surviving with and without use of oxygen. They can also reduce to endospores being oval.

This obligate aerobe can remain in the state of dormancy for many years and one of the species bearing endospores is seen to be found in Morocco and has survived a temperature of 420 Celsius. It is mostly triggered by having the nutrient lack formula and tend to divide the bacteria in the cell wall with allowing one to engulf the rest. Acillus subtilis morphology describes rod-shaped, Gram-positive bacteria that show up on both positive and negative Gram stain techniques.

They are not said to be true spores and at the time of the obligate aerobes making endospores mostly have its genus defined along with many species having their species closely related with many of the same general mobbing to the other genre. The spores of this obligate aerobes are said to be heat, radiation, cold and desiccation resistance. One of the cell make up one endospore. It is identified by the morphology and way of biochemicality.

Norcardia asteroids

They are the obligate aerobes that belong to the Nocardia and can be the cause for causing nocardiosis which is said to be pulmonary restriction.

This is mostly said to be common for the immunocompromised hosts. It needs up oxygen and makes ATP for energy. Though the fats and proteins shall be the carbohydrates and it gets to make pyruvate after breaking in for glycolysis.

The very term for obligate aerobes means to needful be taking in oxygen to keep it alive. This obligate aerobe makes up energy by using oxygen at the time for oxidative phosphorylation in the aerobic time. It needs a 21% of oxygen to grow and also seen in the area having traces of oxygen in form of molecules. The process tends to yield a lot of energy when compared to the other method making 28 ATP with each glucose.

The reaction for having the obligate aerobes making energy is C6H12O6+ 6 O2 + 38 ADP + 38 Phosphate 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + 38 ATP. The obligate aerobes tend to also use oxygen as the acceptor of electron in the glycolysis, the electron transport chain and the Krebs cycle with making of water and carbon dioxide in side. The energy is in form of molecule of ATP. Nocardia asteroides is the most common human pathogen in this family of aerobic, weakly gram-positive bacteria. It is a natural soil saprophyte, often found in decaying organic matter.
